Say what now? Merfolk Meditation? What even is that?!
Merfolk Meditation is a 1 hour relaxation class. Using her skills from dance and mermaiding, Anna has created a class where you can feel the emotional benefits of mermaiding on land!
This class is composed of 3 sections:
The First Section is physical movement. During this portion, we focus on stretching our bodies gently. You do not need to be flexible in any way shape or form. Stretching is good for the mind and body in general. You WILL need to wear comfy clothes that you are comfortable moving in and be in a space that allows you to move within arm/leg reach of yourself. If a stretch feels complicated or unattainable, I will provide alternative stretches for you.
The Second Section is Breathing. There is no movement here and you can choose to either sit in a comfortable position or lay down. Whichever feels best for you, but also, not so comfy that you fall asleep! (It’s OK if that does happen. I’ll take it as a compliment lol) We will focus on breathing techniques slowing down and becoming aware of our breath.
The Third Section is Visualization. You will choose to either remain in your current position or change to a different one. Here you will simply be listening to my voice. I will give you suggestions on how to paint a scene in your mind. You simply do your best to follow along. If you have an active brain(like my own) it may wander. Thats ok. As soon as you notice it wandering, try and bring yourself back to the words being read to you.
Why Do Merfolk Meditation? Because MERMAID. But seriously, to help share the joy and relaxation that I personally feel when I swim as a mermaid. The water might not be for everyone, but mermaids, mermen, and merfolk are for everyone and this is another way to share in that love!
